Medicine Work Experience and Careers Day - Saturday April 4th 2026 - Online
Online
9.30am - 3.30pm BST
Our Medicine Work Experience & Careers Day immerses you in the realities of becoming a doctor.
During the morning session, we focus on medical school applications in detail. You’ll explore the full pathway to medicine — from choosing the right subjects at school and achieving competitive grades, to preparing for entrance exams. We’ll guide you through writing a strong personal statement and demystify the final hurdle: the medical school interview.
You’ll hear directly from doctors, gaining practical advice, insider insight and clear strategies to strengthen your application.
After a short break for lunch, the afternoon session shifts to structured virtual medical work experience. While competitive applicants will need a range of experiences, this session provides a strong foundation. You’ll explore patient scenarios, clinical reasoning, ethics and the realities of working in healthcare — developing examples and reflections you can use in applications and interviews.
Medicine is demanding — both as a university course and as a lifelong profession. We won’t sugar-coat the challenges. Instead, our aim is to give you an honest, realistic understanding of what lies ahead.
By the end of the day, you’ll know exactly what is required to secure a place at medical school — and, just as importantly, whether a career in medicine is truly right for you.
