Computer Science Work Experience and Careers Day - Saturday March 28th 2026 - Online
In the morning session, we focus on everything you need to do to study Computer Science at university. From subject choices at school and grade requirements to building a strong application profile and securing relevant work experience, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the pathway to a competitive university place.
We’ll also explore the wide range of career opportunities a Computer Science degree can lead to — from software development and cybersecurity to artificial intelligence, data science, and beyond. This session is designed not only to prepare you for application success, but also to help you decide whether the profession is the right fit for you.
The technology sector is highly competitive and attracts exceptionally talented individuals. This session will challenge you to think strategically about how to stand out and strengthen your future application to leading universities.
In the afternoon, you’ll take part in a structured virtual work experience task. You’ll complete a coding project designed to be accessible for beginners, while also offering additional challenge for those with prior experience.
All required software will be provided online, and by the end of the day you’ll have practical experience and a certificate of completion that can be referenced in university applications.
Our aim is that you leave with a stronger understanding of the industry, a clear action plan for applying to university, and meaningful experience you can confidently discuss in your personal statement or interviews.
