Midwifery Work Experience and Careers Day - Saturday April 18th 2026 - Online
Online
11am - 4pm BST
Our Midwifery Work Experience & Careers Day is designed to prepare students for a future career in midwifery and give a clear understanding of the university application process.
In the morning session, led by a practising midwife, you’ll learn how midwifery degree programmes are structured and what universities look for in applicants. We’ll cover subject requirements, grade expectations, and the types of work experience that strengthen an application. You’ll also receive detailed guidance on writing a strong personal statement, including the key qualities admissions teams expect to see — and common mistakes to avoid.
In the afternoon, you’ll take part in structured virtual work experience, gaining insight into the practical skills and techniques midwives use every day. Through guided scenarios and discussions, you’ll develop a realistic understanding of the profession and the responsibilities involved.
By the end of the day, you’ll have a clear roadmap for applying to midwifery at university, along with meaningful work experience examples you can reference in personal statements and interviews.
