In the morning session, we focus on everything you need to do to study architecture at university. From subject choices at school and grade requirements to building a competitive portfolio and securing relevant work experience, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the pathway into this highly creative and technical profession.

Architecture involves a structured qualification route, including specific university degrees and professional training stages. We’ll guide you through each step so you understand exactly what is required to progress towards becoming a qualified architect.

In the afternoon, you’ll take part in a practical virtual work experience task designed to strengthen your university applications.

You’ll be challenged to design a house extension based on a detailed client brief, using design software provided for the session. This task will test not only your creativity and design thinking, but also your ability to interpret client requirements, balance constraints, and present practical solutions.

The day concludes with a live group Q&A session, where you can ask questions about studying architecture, portfolio preparation, and career progression.

By the end of the day, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how the architecture industry works, what universities expect from applicants, and practical examples you can confidently reference in applications and interviews. You will also receive a certificate of completion to support your future studies.
