Teaching Work Experience & Careers Day
Teachers are able to leave a lasting impression on students, it can be a very fulfilling career with great scope for progression and the chance to leave a lasting legacy on all students you meet. It’s a very diverse career and one which also provides lots of opportunity for personal development too.
On our teaching career day you’ll learn all about the profession, the job roles available to you, how to get a place at university, how to secure a job at the end of it and also get some hands on work experience too.
Teaching : HOW TO APPLY SUCCESSFULLY - THE MORNING
In the morning session we’ll focus on everything you need to do in order to study for a teaching qualification at university and obtain Qualified Teacher Status.
By the end of the morning session you should have an understanding of everything you will need to do in order to get a place at university & we’ll cover all the various options as well as pros and cons of Primary and Secondary school teaching and all of the options in terms of types of school you may teach in too.
We’ll give you the lowdown on funding your degree course, career prospects and guide you through the whole process of becoming a qualified teacher.
Teaching WORK EXPERIENCE - THE AFTERNOON
In the afternoon we’ll concentrate on giving you some meaningful work experience that you can use in your applications to university.
We’ll focus on safeguarding pupils and together in a group we will practice a scenario to give you the skills and confidence to talk about in your applications and interviews.
At the end of the day you’ll receive a certificate that you can use in your applications too. It’s our aim that by the end of the day you’ll have a better understanding of how the profession works, know what you need to do for a successful application for teaching and have some great material to use in your applications to help you secure a place.

All courses begin at 11am and finish at 4pm BST & are available to watch for 60 days after if you can’t make it on the day.
