Our Dentistry Work Experience & Careers Day is designed to give you a clear and realistic understanding of what it takes to secure a place at dental school.

In the morning session, led by practising dentists and current dental students, you’ll learn exactly what is required to study dentistry at university. We’ll cover subject requirements, grade expectations, and the range of dental schools, including how their teaching approaches may differ. You’ll gain insight into entrance requirements, interviews and how to build a competitive application profile. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear roadmap to guide your journey into dentistry.

In the afternoon, you’ll take part in structured virtual dentistry work experience. Working through clinical scenarios alongside experienced dentists, you’ll explore procedures such as extractions and fillings while gaining insight into patient communication and day-to-day life in the profession.

These sessions are designed to give you practical examples and reflections that you can confidently reference in personal statements and interviews.

By the end of the day, you’ll understand exactly what is required to apply successfully to dental school and have meaningful work experience to strengthen your future applications.

The morning session of your Psychology Work Experience & Careers Day focuses on the pathway to studying psychology at university and the wide range of careers it can lead to.

Led by an industry expert, we begin by exploring where a psychology degree can take you. Psychology sits at the intersection of science and the humanities, making it one of the most versatile and well-rounded degrees available. Graduates may pursue careers in clinical or educational psychology, but equally find opportunities in fields such as marketing, human resources, journalism, law, or business — anywhere that an understanding of human behaviour is valuable.

We’ll map out the different career routes available and then guide you through how to secure a competitive place at university. This includes subject choices, grade expectations, super-curricular development, and how to demonstrate genuine interest in the subject.

After lunch, the focus shifts to structured virtual psychology work experience.

You’ll take part in practical activities designed to develop your understanding of psychological concepts and research skills, while also gaining insight into how psychologists think and work in real-world settings. These exercises will provide valuable examples you can reference in personal statements and interviews.

The day concludes with a live Q&A session, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about studying psychology, university life and future career pathways.
