Business School Applications- The Morning

A degree in business is extremely broad and very useful for a multitude of careers. We begin the day by talking about some of the various careers your business degree may lead you to.

Your GCSE and A-levels will play a big part in the options available to you, whilst there are no real must have subjects for business, maths always plays a big role in most job fields under the umbrella of business.

Going through the top careers such as investment banking, finance, accountancy and stockbroking we’ll break down each one, explain the salaries available, working culture and the various universities and entry requirements for each course. You’ll hear what to expect from each course so you can be confident you’re making the right choice.

We’ll spend a little time this morning going through an example of a great resume/CV for business related jobs to give you an idea of the kind of things you should be thinking about when it comes to applying to them and how its never too early to start thinking about it.

It’s our aim that by the end of the day you’re fully decided on if a career in business is right for you and you have all the knowledge on the options available to you in this field.

Business Work Experience - The Afternoon

In the afternoon session we will provide you with some work experience. We have an investment strategies task for you to complete together with the group, an interactive fun exercise that will put you at the heart of the corporate world and really get you thinking about narrowing down your career choices.

We’ll finish up the day with a live Q&A session where you can ask us anything you like about applying for a career in business from the application process for university to day to day life in a business career .

Students will be provided with a certificate of course completion which can be used in your applications and interviews. By the end of the day you should have a good understanding of the career options available by taking a business degree and have developed some important commercial awareness, work experience, guidance on subject choices and extra curricular activity ideas to use in your applications and interviews.
